[Harvest Lunatone] Clara Skye

When Clara puts her mind to something, she means to get it done no matter how long it takes her. She doesn't allow her opinions to be swayed by the will of the majority, which keeps her moral compass pointed in an ever-steady direction. This steadfast determination helps keep her from becoming discouraged and allows her to maintain a generally positive outlook.

If you're ever in need of help, you can always count on Clara to be there. When making promises with others, she always keeps her word and does her best to never let her friends and acquaintances down. Additionally, Clara can be trusted to keep a secret or lend a helping hand if called upon.

Clara's hardworking nature is perhaps one of her cornerstone traits. She finds nothing more gratifying than focusing on the daily tasks of maintaining her ranch and caring for the Pokémon that live on it. She honestly enjoys what she does, and this clearly shows through the quality of her work (but it doesn't mean that she doesn't know when to relax, either!).

It's not uncommon to see Clara trying to juggle ten tasks at once. Usually, this leads her to forget what she might be doing at any one time, or results in her leaving tasks unfinished until she remembers to go back and complete them. She has the best of intentions, but will usually forget things if they're not written down in a daily planner that she always carries in her back pocket (this includes the names of people, upcoming birthdays, chores, directions, etc).

Despite her proficient skills and know-how regarding ranching, Clara can be expressly naïve about many of the other things in the world around her. Her too-trusting nature is easy for others to take advantage of, which in turn leads her to be easily manipulated. If you tell her that you're growing blue strawberries or just caught a Magikarp the size of a Wailmer, she'd believe you in a heartbeat and congratulate you on your good fortunes.

Unfortunately, Clara's drive to commit herself to multiple tasks is rooted in her impatient tendencies. She has trouble waiting for things, wishing that they were done instantly. This becomes particularly unbearable when the holidays, festivals, or birthdays (hers or others) are concerned. As a result, Clara can sometimes appear markedly full of energy and she might have trouble sticking to one task for too long due to a shortened attention span.

Clara was born in a small nondescript town in the Kanto region to two artisan parents, arriving as the second child out of what would eventually be a total of five. While she was growing up, the Skye household was never void of things to do and people to see. It seemed like their small home was always full of guests, as her siblings would bring home friends or neighbors would stop by for friendly conversation. As a result, Clara was exposed to many different types of people and experiences from a young age. She grew to love the random visitors and the busyness of her household and took to striking up conversations with whoever she could find to talk with. On one of these many occasions she met Mr. Liam Carsey, a local photography teacher in the town's high school and a close friend of her father. 

Despite the fact that at the time Clara was only an elementary schooler, it didn't deter her from getting to know Mr. Carsey and his work. He was one of the more frequent visitors to the Skye house, and on the occasions that he stopped by Clara would greet him with a bright smile and abundant enthusiasm. Sometimes he would also bring his camera, allowing Clara to take some photos of her own. This was the starting point for her interest in photography, and she began saving up money so that she could buy a camera of her own. Occasionally Mr. Carsey would bring some of his photo albums along when he visited, and Clara would leaf through the photographs with rapt attention. Soon it became easy to see that her interest was particularly focused on the images that displayed Pokémon.

"Where do all these Pokémon pictures come from?" Clara asked him at one point after she had finished leafing through the Pokémon album for what seemed to be the hundredth time. She had begun to grow attached to their familiar faces after seeing them so many times. Since she had no pets of her own, she liked to pretend that maybe in a different life she could have helped Mr. Carsey take care of all the Pokémon that he liked to photograph. In response to her question, he explained that his parents owned a ranch on a small island in a place called Raccolto.

"Whenever I visit them, I make sure to take along my camera and take plenty of pictures of the ranch," he told her. "It's a big job to take care of so many Pokémon, but my parents love the work."

"I wish I had a ranch," Clara responded with a slight frown on her childish face.

Mr. Carsey just smiled and ruffled her hair. "Maybe someday, kiddo."

After that point things continued as normal and time marched on. As Clara entered middle school, she still held fast to her dream of one day owning a ranch with Pokémon to take care of. She spent her free time either photographing or researching ranch Pokémon and the work involved with taking care of each different type. She became well-informed on the ways to raise these Pokémon despite the fact that she had no real-life experience with taking care of any pets of her own. Mr. Carsey continued with his visits, and noticed Clara's growing interest in ranching. Her serious dedication eventually led him to inviting her along on one of his annual visits to his parents' ranch. Clara instantly fell in love with every aspect of the visit, from waking up early each morning to doing small fix-ups around the property to spending time with the ranch Pokémon and taking care of them. The years passed, and each time Mr. Carsey visited his parents he would allow Clara to accompany him on the trip.

However, eventually there came a time when Mr. Carsey's parents became too old to easily maintain the ranch and take care of the Pokémon that lived there. It was with a heavy heart that they decided to retire from ranching after many long years. They found good homes for their Pokémon and prepared to give the property to their son. But much to their surprise, Liam refused to accept the deed to the ranch that he had grown up on. Instead, he asked them to give the property to Clara for her twenty-fourth birthday. It didn't take much effort to convince them, and Clara was completely shocked to receive the ranch that she had fallen in love with as a gift. After all the preparations were taken care of and the farewells exchanged, Clara packed her bags and left to for the boat to Raccolto to finally begin her dream of ranch ownership.

Alaska is a rambunctious and troublemaking young puppy. He enjoys digging holes around the ranch and marking his territory just about anywhere. Clara is doing her best to train him to act as a more useful sheep/ranch dog, but his short attention span sometimes makes him difficult to control. Despite this, Alaska can be fiercely loyal and will bark aggressively at anyone/thing he deems a threat to Clara or the other ranch Pokémon. His favorite activities besides digging holes and peeing on things include chasing the mailman, following Clara around everywhere, running in circles, and trashing up the house when nobody's home.

Alaska was given to Clara by Mr. Carsey's parents when their Arcanines had puppies. Out of all of the puppies, he seemed to be the most energetic and suitable for being a sheepdog (albeit with some training). Little did Clara know, Alaska seems to have his own agenda, and herding Pokémon is not high on the priority list.

★ She had her front top and bottom teeth filed down almost as soon as she evolved (her bottom teeth are now of normal length and her top teeth are just long enough to poke out of her mouth)
★ Surprisingly, Clara doesn't mind catlike Pokémon (her father and one of her sisters are from the Meowth/Persain evolutionary line)
★ A side hobby of Clara's is photography. She loves snapping photos and keeping photo albums (it's an annual tradition)
