If any Fallout fans would like to RP just drop me a note! I tend to prefer paragraph-style RPs, but any plot or genre is game!
I will never apologize for the obscene amount of times I've redone this app. For some reason the last version was wiped from the computer, so that's the only reason I'm not just updating the file. Name: Colin Card
Lives/Works: Regulator H.Q., Capitol Wasteland
Occupation: Medical doctor
- He has a “V” shaped scar running from his lower back to his tailbone due to torture from raiders early after he left the Vault
- He has a small tattoo of a bird silhouette below his left shoulder blade
Strengths: Colin’s highly curious intellect has caused him to gain an interest in the medical field, so he is an excellent nurse and can fashion medical aid from sporadic materials he finds in the field. He is also a skilled hacker when dealing with computers or anything science-related. Reading frequently in the Vault helped him learn about many of the Capital Wasteland’s native flora and fauna so that he can identify beneficial and harmful species, even though radiation has altered much since then. He is also a proficient sniper, an ace when it comes to using any sort of scoped gun, particular the scoped sniper rifle and scoped .44 magnum.
Weaknesses:After leaving the Vault, Colin reacted poorly to the sudden exposure to ground radiation levels and the environment changes. This took a toll on his health and he nearly lost his life from the sudden and dramatic leave from the controlled environment inside the Vault where he was raised. As a result, much of his prior strength and endurance is gone. He must take a daily rad-resistance pill in order to avoid deadly rad poisoning. When under stress this becomes noticeable, and Colin will begin to cough and look rather sickly. He is very vulnerable when attacked by a large group, or in hand-to-hand/melee combat.
Personality: Colin is an amicable young man who is very passionate about his work and interested in learning as much as he can about the Wasteland through pre-war books and salvageable terminals. He usually has an empathetic nature towards most other wastelanders, even going so far as to help others even if it means going out of his way without asking about payment before. However, this doesn't mean he can be easily taken advantage of. Colin has no tolerance for raiders, slavers, or anyone with malicious intent or the desire to harm others for any reason besides self-defense, and if he sees no alternative he won't hesitate to pull the trigger.
History: Colin was born in Vault 101 and was raised as an inquisitive child who took an interest in the medical field from an early age. He had a few close friends, and a strong relationship with both his family and the Vault’s resident doctor, James. He spent much of his free time reading either medical volumes or encyclopedias and guidebooks on the geography of the world from pre-war texts, particularly the United States. As a result, Colin often dreamed about leaving the Vault to explore despite the warnings that the earth was no longer suitable for living.
When Colin was just seven years old, James fled the Vault, leaving a revolt in his wake. After a few months of intense fighting, the Vault was opened to the Capitol Wasteland, and the Vault dwellers began tentative explorations of the outside environment. Eventually, a system was devised that allowed scouting parties of six to make supply runs when needed and establish relations with neighboring fractions. At the age of thirteen children were aloud to begin scouting, and Colin naturally jumped at the opportunity, eager to finally see the world outside. However, upon his first run, the group was ambushed by raiders waiting in Springtown.
Colin was captured and tortured, and nearly died due to a combination of mild starvation, radiation poisoning, and injuries. He managed to escape after nearly eight months had passed, and was found and rescued by Megaton settlers. Colin was nursed back to health by Doc Church over the course of a few weeks, though he never fully regained his former strength. Colin stayed in Megaton until he was seventeen, studying under Doc and experiencing the true severity of the Wasteland. He eventually decided to leave Megaton so he could explore the wastes and scavenge pre-war hospitals for medical equipment and books to further him in his medical studies with the ambition to become a proper doctor.
After a few years his travels led him to discover the Regulator H.Q. At first Colin had no intention of staying, but their pressing need for a medic led him to agree to take up residency. Currently he lives and works there, treating Regulators along with the wastelanders they rescue from slavers and raiders. Though he's not one for excessive exploration, if medical supplies are running low Colin will occasionally make solo runs to scavenge for a few days at a time before returning.
- Colin occasionally wears contacts, if he can somehow find the correct prescription during his scavenging outings. Usually this is only for special occasions
- He has very slight heterochromia in his eyes
- Typically you can find Colin armed with two scoped .44 magnums, though sometimes he'll replace them with a sniper rifle for more dangerous scavenging runs
- He wears a typical Regulator duster, but it has medical patches sewn on the shoulders
- When he's not wearing that, he can usually be found wearing a lab coat and tie, similar to a pre-war's doctor attire
