The Scythe Kusari - Chapter 5The scream had been what woke Angel up. She realized she fell asleep after thinking about her mother. However, the shout was muddled in her sleepiness, so she couldn't clearly hear the words. She was about to go back to sleep, dismissing it as merely a dream, when another loud noise alerted her to attention. It sounded like another shout, coming from the alley next to her window. She got up, curious. Being the daughter of the Chief of police had apparently rubbed off on her, and she decided to investigate. She stepped out of her warm bed, her bare feet rubbing against the soft rug she had put over the worn wooden flooring. On her way to the little window that overlooked the alley, Angel passed in front of the floor mirror she had propped against the wall. She still wore her clothes from before; apparently her father hadn't woke her up once they had gotten home. He must have put her right into her
The Scythe Kusari - Chapter 4 Lance flew as fast as he could, but to nowhere in particular. He could hear Candy's flirty laugh behind him, no more than a block away. Suddenly, he saw his destination the wooded area towards the edge of town. He was only a few blocks away. If he managed to get a head start into the piney woods, it would be extremely hard for her to find him. "You should at least fight! All strong guys would ~!" she sang, probably fantasizing. Lance ignored her and cleared the last block, the lamplights of the street ending. He jumped onto a branch and his wings disappeared, too big to make moving in the cramped forest easy with their size. He crouched like a cat and jumped from branch to branch, easily dodging despite his speed with help from his eagle eyes. The farther in he went the thicker the tangle of branches became, until even the chirps of insects was gone along with the moonlight. Branches made a
The Scythe Kusari - Chapter 3It was that dream again. Angel was sure of it. It always started out the same way; she was alone in a world of darkness. She was sitting, and wore a plain white dress. Normally, images would appear before her, faint and blurry. Most were of friends, family, and those closest to her. However, the most vivid would always be of a woman with golden hair that flowed down her back, and blue eyes that were a mirror image of Angel's own. The woman would always try to talk to her, but the image would be lost and Angel would once again be alone in the blackness. That was usually where she woke up. This time, though, Angel felt it was different. She still wore the dress, but around her neck was the necklace. The first image to appear was the lady. Like normal, she appeared as if she were in an oval mirror about as wide and tall as Angel herself. The mirror's border was silver. The woman made a gesture, becko
Starless Night - Chapter 7 Alice grinned happily as they left Cherrygrove. She had purchased a chocolate-colored messenger bag with a picture of a smiling Pikachu in one corner. She had to borrow Jesse's money because she didn't have any, but he didn't mind. Instead, he had bought more Pocky and some Pokéfood. "There's someone I want you to meet on Route 30," Jesse said as they began walking near the tall grasses on a well-worn dirt path. Dusk and Eevee rolled around playfully in front of them as they walked. "Who?" Alice asked, brimming with curiosity. "A man known to trainers as Mr. Pokémon. He's a friend of Professor Elm's and may also be able to give you helpful advice." Jesse explained while they walked. "Oh, alright." Alice replied. He certainly has an odd name
They continued on their walk, passing by a single hou
The Scythe Kusari - Chapter 2*Artist's comments for new character description! (Again!)*~o~ Lance fidgeted anxiously, legs dangling over the roof of the game store. He was facing the alley, and was listening as the last car drove away. "Maybe now I can finally try and find the Scythe Kusari. Annoying humans wouldn't leave for hours," he muttered. He jumped off the building with ease, his wings flying out at his command. They were unusual in color; silvery white dragon's wings. His wingspan was about 9.5 ft, an average number. After a second he touched the ground, and they disappeared again. When he wasn't flying, they only seemed to get in the way. He opened the back door easily even though it was locked. By using his magic, any human lock could be broken with ease and fixed to look as if nothing had happened. He pushed open the door and pulled the chain for the light to flicker on.
The Scythe Kusari - Chapter 1 Angel's father disappeared into the dark gaming store, where the theft had taken place. Only an hour before, the place had been robbed of approximately $300 worth of merchandise. Her father was chief of police and was leading the investigation. Two cop cars and her father's car were parked outside. Angel's father had ordered her to stay put in the car. The only reason she had been allowed to come in the first place was because they had been out gathering groceries for dinner when he received a call on his cell. They had raced back to the apartment, where he had changed into his uniform, grabbed his badge, and left without Angel even stepping out of the car. She wasn't the type to 'stay put', and opened the car door a crack to listen. It seemed like no one was outside, so she pushed open the door and stepped out into the cool spring night air. Unlike its name, Kousaku City was only a large town. Th
